Melbee Terms of Service
Version 1.0 — Effective 22 June 2026
Last updated: 13 October 2026
These terms govern use of the Melbee app and website, provided by FILANTO INVESTMENTS LTD, a company registered in Cyprus, registration number HE384993 (“Melbee”, “we”). By creating an account you accept these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. Features described for the app apply when they are available and you use them; a website preview does not itself create an app account or a paid subscription.
1. What Melbee is — and is not
Melbee is a tool for tracking household income and expenses. It shows you data from your bank accounts and lets you organise it.
Melbee does not hold or move your money and does not provide personalised financial advice. Nothing in the app is a recommendation to buy, sell, save, invest or borrow. It helps you organise financial information; it does not replace your bank’s records or professional advice.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract. One person, one account. Take reasonable steps to keep your sign-in secure and tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission. This does not make you responsible for unauthorised use caused by a failure on our part.
3. Bank connections
Bank connections use third-party providers, including Salt Edge for supported banks in the EEA and UK and Plaid for supported banks in the United States. The connection flow identifies the provider and any additional terms and authorisations that apply. You must be authorised to access any account you connect. Melbee does not ask for your online-banking password. Using a provider does not remove our responsibilities for the Melbee service.
We show data received from providers. It may be delayed, incomplete, duplicated or miscategorised, and connections may be interrupted. Check your bank’s own records before relying on a figure. We remain responsible for providing Melbee with reasonable care and skill and for any remedies required by consumer law.
AI assistance
Optional AI assistance helps explain and organise financial information. Available features and providers may change. These features use external providers and require the permission described in our Privacy Policy. You can decline or turn them off in Profile and continue using the app. Suggestions may be inaccurate: review them before saving or relying on them. AI assistance does not provide financial, investment or fraud advice.
4. Shared wallets
You can share a wallet with other Melbee users. Their access depends on the role you assign: viewers can view shared information, while editors can make permitted changes, such as updating transaction tags and notes. Sharing does not necessarily allow changes to every transaction field. Only share a wallet with people you trust with the information it contains.
The wallet owner controls sharing and can remove access or delete the wallet. Leaving or losing access does not automatically remove transactions, notes or associated names from the shared record. Deleting the wallet removes it from members’ access, subject to the retention practices and legal rights described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Subscription and payment
If you purchase a subscription through Apple’s App Store when offered, Apple processes payment under its applicable terms. The price, billing period, included features and any trial conditions will be shown before purchase. We do not receive your payment-card details from Apple.
A Melbee subscription covers the household: one active subscription gives every member of the subscriber’s household access to Melbee, including bank connections, notifications and other features available in the app. A member who leaves the household is no longer covered. Without an active subscription, Melbee’s features are unavailable, but your data is kept under the Privacy Policy and you can still request a copy of it or delete your account.
Auto-renewing subscriptions continue until cancelled in accordance with the purchase terms. Manage cancellation in your Apple account’s subscription settings before renewal. Cancellation normally leaves access available until the end of the paid period. Price changes follow Apple’s applicable notice and consent requirements and any additional requirements of local law; not every increase requires affirmative consent.
For App Store billing or a purchase refund, use Apple’s purchase-support process. You may also contact us about problems with the Melbee service. Apple’s process does not limit your mandatory consumer rights or our responsibility to provide a remedy where required by law.
EU/EEA consumers may have a 14-day withdrawal right for distance purchases. Its application, and any lawful exception for digital content or services, depend on the purchase and the information and choices presented at checkout. These terms do not waive that right. You also retain statutory remedies for a service that is not supplied or does not conform to the contract, including a price reduction or refund where the law provides one.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Melbee to break the law, access another person’s account without permission, connect a bank account you are not authorised to access, bypass security, overload the service or resell access. Restrictions on copying, reverse engineering or automated access apply only to the extent permitted by law. Suspension and termination are subject to section 11.
7. Your data
You retain your rights in the information you provide. You can request a copy of your personal data at support@melbee.app and request account deletion in Profile. Access, portability, deletion and retention are described in the Privacy Policy. You grant us only the permission needed to store, process and display the content you provide to operate the service, including sharing you authorise. Any statutory right to retrieve other content you have supplied also remains available.
8. Our software
The Melbee software, name and design belong to us or our licensors; third-party names and marks belong to their owners. For an app distributed through Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard licence agreement applies unless a separate applicable licence is provided with the app. Restrictions on copying, modifying or redistributing our software are subject to rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
9. Availability and changes
Melbee may be unavailable during maintenance, provider outages or events outside our reasonable control. We may update the service for valid reasons, such as security, legal requirements, technical compatibility or improvements. For a paid service, changes beyond those needed to maintain conformity will have no additional cost and will be explained clearly. Where a change materially affects your use, we will give advance notice and any cancellation or refund rights required by law.
If we discontinue Melbee, we will ordinarily give at least 60 days’ notice and an opportunity to retrieve your data. If law or an urgent security issue prevents that notice, we will explain where permitted. Any entitlement to a refund for an unused paid period is preserved.
10. Liability
We are responsible for reasonably foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. Melbee is intended for personal household use; to the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for business losses, such as lost business profits, or losses that could not reasonably have been foreseen.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Your mandatory consumer rights, including rights concerning the quality and supply of digital services, remain unaffected.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Melbee and request account deletion at any time. Deleting the app or your Melbee account does not by itself cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it through your Apple account as described in section 5.
We may suspend or end access for a material breach of these terms, unlawful use, a serious security risk, a legal requirement or discontinuation of the service. Where practicable, we will explain the reason, give an opportunity to fix a remediable breach and provide at least 30 days’ notice before permanent closure. Immediate action may be necessary to protect users or comply with law. You may contact us to contest a decision. We will preserve data-access and refund rights required by law.
12. Apple
Melbee provides support for its service. For App Store purchases, Apple’s role and your software-licence rights are governed by the applicable Apple terms, including the standard licence agreement linked in section 8. These service terms do not remove rights you have against Apple under its own terms or applicable law.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Cyprus. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live and may bring a claim in the courts available to you under applicable consumer law. Please contact us first if you would like help resolving a problem; doing so is not a condition for exercising your legal rights.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for changes in the service, law or security requirements. We publish the current terms here with a “Last updated” date. For a material change affecting existing account holders, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email or in the app, unless an urgent legal or security requirement requires a shorter period. Where the law requires agreement, we will obtain it. If you do not accept a change, you can end the agreement and exercise any cancellation or refund right the law provides. Updates do not remove rights relating to an earlier purchase or dispute.
